Kapoor made her acting debut in 2010 with the film Teen
Patti,[14] where Kapoor appeared as a college rock star
alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Ben Kingsley and R. Madhavan.
The film failed at the box office[15][16] though Kapoor's performance
attracted a generally positive reception from critics; Preeti Arora of
Rediff.com stated that "[t]hough a bit raw, [Kapoor] has a lot of
potential.″[17] Nikhat Kazmi ofThe Times Of India said that
"Shradha Kapoor makes an interesting debut as the edgy youngster who sheds
her specs for sleaze, with alacrity."[18] Taran
Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama added that Kapoor "get[s]
maximum footage and [...] stand[s] out."[19] Kapoor was nominated for
the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
In 2011, she signed a three-movie deal with Yash Raj

Shah) after he betrays her, generated mostly favourable
reviews.[22][23] Taran Adarsh commented that ″Shraddha is a revelation,
catching you unaware with a confident performance. She's electrifying in the
sequence when she breaks down after getting to know the true intentions of her
lover.″[24] Komal Nahta of Koimoi.com noted that ″Shraddha Kapoor does
well. She performs very confidently and impresses in her second
film.″[25] Ankur Pathak of Rediff.com opined that ″Shraddha Kapoor has a
charming screen presence, and though she's not a proficient actor so far, she
is above average as the conflicted girl with a stubborn
motive.″[26] Gaurav Malani of The Times Of India was more
critical of Kapoor, saying that "Shraddha Kapoor's role is decent but she
doesn't rise over the average script.″[27] For her performance, Kapoor

three-film contract with Yash Raj Films was completed, she signed up
for Mahesh Bhatt's Aashiqui 2, thereby cancelling the contract.[29]

[...] gets to sink her teeth into this challenging character and the attractive
youngster is simply amazing, more so towards the demanding moments in the
